On Thursday Nov. 14th, WJAR's Health Check 10 reporter Barbara Morse aired a segment about RI's new mandatory sepsis protocols. She interviewed Tara, who told Gianna's story and explained why early diagnosis is so important for saving lives. Dr. Lee Polikoff, a sepsis expert at Hasbro Children's Hospital, told Morse that with the protocols in place, "The expectation is that every hospital, every health care facility should have the ability to recognize sepsis early." The segment is now posted online and includes a link to the Gianna Cirella Memorial Fund. You can view the segment here.
