We are delighted to share the news that the GCMF has received its first-ever $1,500 Senate Legislative Grant from the State of Rhode Island. This generous grant will cover the rental cost of a storage unit to securely store care bags and supplies that we distribute to the families of patients admitted to the Hasbro Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The care bags contain cozy blankets, personal hygiene items, and other items to ensure that families can remain at their children’s side while attending to personal needs.

We are so grateful to Senator Mark McKenney (District 30-Warwick), who played a critical role in securing this grant for the GCMF. We appreciate his support and stewardship in obtaining this grant, which will enable us to better fulfil our mission of supporting sepsis research, education, and providing assistance to children and families affected by sepsis. A shout out as well to GCMF board member Tony Corrente, who helped us successfully navigate the grant application process.
