Our Board of Directors

Janine Calise
Janine is a founding board member of the GCMF and is responsible for designing the Fund’s sepsis awareness collateral and marketing materials. She also maintains the website, email campaigns and manages the social media outreach.
In addition to her work with the Fund, Janine is an adjunct professor of design at New England Institute of Technology and has been a creative director/designer offering corporate design services from conceptual through to production for over 30 years.
She and her husband have four sons, two of whom have battled sepsis. Her youngest developed sepsis in 2009, when he was 8 years old, after an eye infection known as orbital cellulitis. Her oldest son developed sepsis in 2024, when his knee swelled up and he had to undergo emergency surgery. These two experiences have made Janine appreciate what a difference the sepsis protocols have made in terms of treatment.
Moreover, Janine worked with Gianna, became friends with her and absolutely adored her. She continues to volunteer to not only spread awareness regarding sepsis, but also to honor Gianna’s memory.
